PM Hamza receives high officials from Qatar Charity amidst devastating droughts

PM Hamza Barre received a delegation from the Qatar Embassy in Somalia and visiting high officials from Qatar Charity, a Qatari State-Owned humanitarian foundation.

This meeting comes days after the UAE and envoys stampede to OPM and pledge a swift response to the droughts in Somalia.

It seems now that Doha is striving to keep its political momentum in the country no matter who is sitting in Villa Somalia despite accusations of back door deals between Qatar and Al-Shabab.

Former President, Mohamed Farmajo, was receiving political and financial support from Doha which enabled him to take the country on a wild ride for four years of constitutional mandate and almost two years of illegal term extension.

Amb Hassan Bin Hamza who was present during the meeting is a suspect in an ongoing investigation about Qatar’s involvement in many terrorist attacks in Somalia especially in Bosaso city following the pieces of evidence revealed confirming the ambassador that his friends did it.

In a leaked audiotape by New York Times, Amb Hassan states “our friends/Al-Shabab carried out that attack aimed to chase the Emirates out of Somalia”.

Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for that attack which killed dozens of innocent people and injured many.

It’s not yet clear whether the current government will fall under that trap of ridiculous cash and turn a blind eye.
